The hands-on experience of Second Wave provides a unique and fun learning environment.
Students will gain an understanding of marine ecology, the interconnection between ecosystems, and an appreciation for their local environment.
The program includes lab experiments, field studies, and activities all designed to enhance the student’s understanding of marine science.
Second Wave is taught by two instructors and utilizes a 15-passenger van, which allows the class to become completely mobile, traveling to Duxbury Beach and beyond.
A special extended field trip day includes a trip to Woods Hole, MA to explore the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Marine Biological Laboratory.
Each Second Wave week will have its own unique theme, so sign up for one or all four for a different experience each time!
– Estuary Explorers… “Jump from the saltmarsh banks and learn all about the ecology of this unique habitat!”
– Stewards of the Sea… “Become an environmental expert and learn how you can protect your favorite ocean habitats!”
