2009 Summer Junior Regatta Schedule Announced

The Duxbury Bay Maritime School announces its 2009 summer regatta schedule. This year, DBMS will separate the 420/Laser and Optimist regattas into different events to accommodate larger fleets and enable sailors and their families to take full advantage of the newly constructed DBMS facilities.

The 420/Laser regatta is scheduled for June 27, 28 and offers sailors an early opportunity to get back into the swing of summer racing and test their skills against what promises to be a strong field of competitors. The event will include a rigging and tuning clinic on the first day.

The Opti regatta is scheduled for July 25, 26 and is part of the SMSA Grand Prix series, ensuring a strong field of competitors. In addition, a Green Fleet will provide newer sailors with an opportunity to experience fleet racing in a fun, instructional environment. A rigging clinic will be held in the morning of the first day, prior to racing.

A Parent Launch for spectators will be offered by DBMS during both days of both events.

DBMS recently upgraded their facilities, featuring a brand new state-of-the-art sailing and rowing facility, and expanded on site parking.
