Meet the Fleet

Single Scull (1x)

A one-person shell designed for maximum efficiency on flat water. This shell requires a refined balanced technique and ability to turn and look behind you for navigating. This is a popular choice for both beginners and seasoned rowers seeking a focused, individual challenge. Our fleet of singles are wider and therefore more stable boats that are nearly impossible to capsize.

Double Scull (2x)

This boat design is much lighter and reactive for two scullers.. The sculler in the bow seat is responsible for steering the shell. It is a popular choice for those who want to row on flat water in a faster, less stable shell requiring more mastery in the skill level and balance.

Coastal Double (C2x)

We row the LiteBoat Duo, a robust two-person shell crafted for open-water conditions. Featuring a wider, more stable hull than traditional racing shells, it’s built to handle waves and currents effectively. This boat blends the excitement of coastal rowing with teamwork, offering an adventurous and physically engaging experience on seas, bays, and other challenging waterways.

Coastal Coxed Quad (C4x+)

A sturdy four-person sculling shell with room for a driver (coxswain). The boat’s wide hull provides stability in rougher waters. The coastal coxed quad is ideal for our novice scullers, middle school participants, and anyone who wants to enjoy a recreational row on the bay.

Straight Quad (4x)

This is a four-person non coxed shell. It has a rounded hull design which makes the boat less stable than the C4x+. This shell is one of the fastest in the fleet and is steered by the bow seat rower. The quad is more challenging to set yet fun to row with friends and race with teammates.

Sweep Boats (8+ and 4+)

Rounding out the fleet are our sweep boats, for either 4 or 8 rowers plus a coxswain! In these larger vessels, each rower carries one oar and in a sweeping motion, rows on either port or starboard. The 8+ is a true team boat, where rhythm and timing must be in sync to move the boat effectively. This is the fastest boat out there and there is room for everyone! The coxswain communicates through a microphone that is wired into the boat speakers so the rowers in the bow are able to hear the calls and commands from the stern. The 4+ is half the size and demands more skill from the athletes as it is more challenging to set than the 8+. It’s also a great vessel for seat-racing.
