A Quick Word
With the support of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, we are able to expand this offering this coming summer to help all explore Duxbury Bay this summer and fall.

FAQ
Yes. Our campus is entirely ADA compliant. We have accessible restrooms and changing areas. We have two handicapped accessible parking spots suitable for Vans or small buses.
Unfortunately, our current indoor rowing and outdoor kayak setup is not equipped to provide the support needed for safe participation. We are always looking for ways to make our programs more accessible, and we hope to expand our adaptive rowing capabilities in the future. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or suggestions.

No, safety is our number one priority. Wind over 20 knots, lightning, and other unpredictable conditions may cause us to cancel. A DBMS staff member will contact you via telephone with as much notice as possible in the event of a cancellation.
For kayaking, most participants use individual kayaks, but if you need a double kayak to paddle with a caregiver, please let us know in advance so we can make arrangements. We maintain a ratio of 1 instructor for every 3 kayakers, so there will typically be multiple trained staff members on the water to provide support and assistance. If you would like an additional aide to join in their own kayak, simply reply to your registration confirmation email and let us know!
Our rowing class also tries to get a few classes on the water in the spring after learning the correct form indoors over the winter. When we row on the water, you’ll be in a larger crew shell alongside multiple rowers from your class and some of our adult rowing participants. A coach boat will follow alongside to provide guidance, support, and assistance throughout the row.
