Ages: 11 – years old as of August 31, 2025
Prerequisites: Competent Swimmer
This class will introduce the basic rowing fundamentals of sculling using a variety of tools including rowing tanks, Concept 2 ergometers, single shells and team boats. Students will learn and practice the technique of the rowing stroke, dock and boat safety, steering, and teamwork. At the end of the first week, we will row on the water in our fun and stable single rowing shells.The second week rowers will work together in a team boat. No previous experience required.

Sweep
Ages: 14 – years old as of August 31, 2025
Prerequisites: Competent Swimmer
This class will introduce participants to sweep rowing. This type of rowing uses one oar instead of two and is the main focus of high school rowing in the spring and fall. The class will introduce and explore the skills unique to this style of rowing. Rowers will take turns rowing and coxing, or steering the boat.

Sculling | Coastal Adventures
Ages: 11 – 18 years old as of August 31, 2025
Prerequisites: Learn to Row or a Fall/Spring Middle School Rowing Session. Competent Swimmer.
This class is open to all rowers with previous experience in rowing. In Coastal Adventures we will travel to all areas of Duxbury Bay and have a picnic on the beach or the mud flats!

Sculling
Ages: 11 – 18 years old as of August 31, 2025
Prerequisites: Learn to Row or a Fall/Spring Middle School Rowing Session. Competent Swimmer.
This class is open to all rowers with previous experience in rowing. Improve your individual stroke while working with others in a team boat! Everyone takes turns rowing and steering the larger, stable quadruple sculling boats. Students may be grouped by ability and progress to a racing quad when ready.

We will come inside for video review and functional training and stretching instruction. Jump start your fall High School season!

Competitive Summer | U19 / U23 Summer Rowing Team – Rower

Ages: 14 – 20 years old as of August 31, 2025
Prerequisites: Competent Swimmer, 1 or more seasons of High School Rowing
We are expanding last year's summer program for experienced high school and collegiate rowers and coxswains from all over the South Shore. Over six weeks, you'll get to spend your summer with plenty of training and friendly competition! The program consists of five morning on-water practices at DBMS, and additional, optional afternoon sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The program fee covers your Summer Team uniform, race entry fees, transportation to regattas, and coaching fees. NO MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED! We've got exciting regattas lined up: Sweeps and Sculls in Narragansett RI (6/29) and Cromwell Cup on Charles River in Boston (7/13). Canadian Henley may also be an add-on option for interested athletes.Boat options? We've got you covered, from doubles, quads, fours, eights, and more. Royal Canadian Henley Regatta

Ages: 14 – 22 years old as of August 31, 2025
Prerequisites: Competitive U19 / U23 Summer Rowing Program
The 2025 Royal Canadian Henley Regatta runs from August 3rd – 10th. This regatta is a great culmination to the summer series for a U19 or U23 athlete; rower or coxswain.
