New this year! Our Jr Sailing afterschool program is now offered in a 7 week session, giving students even more opportunities to spend time at DBMS. We take the hassle out of after-school transportation by picking up students from Chandler School in the DBMS van when school dismisses at 3:25 p.m. Over the course of the session participants will engage in a range of land based sailing related topics that are just as important as the on-water experience. Prepare your mini mariner for their summer on the water by getting exposed to Duxbury Bay landmarks, points of sail, parts of the boat, knots, rigging, land drills, and so much more.

New this year! We're excited to offer an extended sailing related after-school program for our Alden students. Our Rain Gutter Regatta is offered in a 4 week session, giving students even more opportunities to spend time at DBMS. We take the hassle out of after-school transportation by picking up students from Alden School in the DBMS van when school dismisses at 2:10 p.m. Over the course of the session participants will learn the concepts behind measuring wind, buoyancy, building their boat with recycled materials, and culminating in a "rain gutter" regatta in one of our tanks to test out if their vessel is seaworthy. 

Ages: 13 – 18 years old as of August 31, 2026

Prerequisites: This is meant for HS Sailors already on the team or interested in joining the sailing team in the spring. This will follow a team workout session after school.

Gear up for the spring NESSA season, designed for high school sailors (grades 8–12) focused on mastering Team Racing in C420s. Held indoors at DBMS, each session will focus on an aspect of team racing strategy and techniques. These classroom-based sessions blends chalk talks, hands-on activities, and peer debriefs to sharpen mental edge and learn the team race playbook prior to the spring sailing season. Bring a notebook and a competitive mindset! Snacks will be provided.
