Registration Update

A reminder that participants in DBMS Spring HS Crew do not pay user fees to Duxbury HS; athletes need only register for their sport with DHS. Registration & payment links for the regular season will be emailed after rosters are finalized on Friday, March 25th.

Regular Season begins Monday, March 21

Regular season practices for Varsity and Novice will begin on Monday, March 21st, after school. We anticipate that at least our first two weeks of practice will be on land before we transition to boats.

Varsity/Novice Rosters

Varsity crew will continue to operate as a “no-cut” sport. For Novice crew this spring, each Novice squad (Boys/Girls) will carry a maximum of 20 rowers/3 coxswains. Final team rosters will be posted by Friday, March 18th.

Because our racing season straddles April vacation, our team will use the following schedule during April break:
Sat. 4/16 – Weds 4/20 – OFF (Good Friday practices 4/15 to be determined)
Thurs 4/21 – Sat 4/23 – practice and race

Summer

*NEW* Competitive Summer Training 

PROGRAM DATES: June 27-Aug 5.
Minimum of 10 participants
Cost: $650
Requirements: 1 season of competitive HS or College Rowing
This 6 week 4 day/week (Monday-Thursday) coed program will be a fun way to get/stay fit for the fall season. Led by current collegiate rowers and designed by the coaching staff, it will include a progressive strength training program combined with erg workouts and rowing on the bay. Grab your boatmates, stay connected to rowing in a new way and start the fall feeling strong!
Need to fit it around work? It will be offered 2 times each day at 7:30-9am or 5-6:30pm.

*NEW* High School Development Program 

AVAILABLE FOR 2 WEEKS ONLY THIS SUMMER- August 8-12 OR August 15-19
Cost: $280 for rowers $140 for coxswains
Requirements: Rising 9th grade -12th with 3+ weeks of jr rec rowing or 1+ HS season
High School Rowers, are you ready to grow your skills and optimize your rowing? This coed 2.5 hours/day, week-long program will consist of a dynamic warm-up, rowing and racing in our Quadruple Shells. We will come inside for video review and functional training and stretching instruction.

(Practice times 8:00-10:00am (M-F), 4:00-6:00pm (M, Tu, Th) – 8 practices total)

Winter

High School Winter Indoor Rowing

Tue and Thur 5:30-7:00pm November 30-February 17

This program is designed for High School students who are interested in rowing on Spring Crew.  Athletes with, or without rowing experience can participate in our indoor program where High School coaches will introduce and reinforce rowing technique on the ergs and in the tanks.  The 1.5 hour sessions will focus on getting a base level of fitness and form before the spring competitive season.
