Winter Training for DBMS Crew
DBMS offers several options for high school athletes to train for rowing over the winter in preparation for Spring season.
WINTER TRAINING – 2 DAY
Tuesday/Thursday, 3:30-5:30pm – This program is designed for athletes who are participating in other winter conditioning activities, such as the M/W/F Dragon’s Lair strength training program at DHS (https://www.duxburystrength.com/). This class will predominantly focus on erg work.
WINTER TRAINING – 5 DAY
Monday – Friday, 3:30-5:30pm – This program is designed for athletes who wish to train exclusively for rowing during the winter months. Training will incorporate work on the ergs, strength & conditioning, and will include technical sessions in the new DBMS indoor rowing tanks beginning in January 2020.
(please note that we will only run this class if 8 or more athletes have signed up)
WINTER TRAINING – OPEN GYM ACCESS
This option is for athletes participating in other activities over the winter months, or whose schedule will not allow participating during our regularly scheduled classes. Athletes may access the ergs and equipment at any time OUTSIDE of scheduled programming as shown on the schedule at the top of this page.
All classes are co-ed, and combine Varsity & Novice athletes. Our courses take place at DBMS, begin during the week of December 2nd, and will run through the end of February.
