Big Fish Little Fish

Age 2–4-year old’s Wednesdays 9:30-11:00 AM

If you have attended our Big Fish Little Fish program this summer, join us this fall for some BRAND-NEW lessons. For anyone that is new to DBMS, parents/guardians attend this program with their child! The program lasts an hour and a half and will include a short lesson, a hands-on activity, and usually a craft or a short story. Unlike during the summer, we will be offering smaller age ranges so that lessons and activities will be more focused and age-appropriate!  The fall session will consist of 8 classes, each on a different topic: migrating animals, birds of prey, marine mammals, and meteorology!

Wednesdays 3:45-5:15 PM

We know how busy this time of year can be for parents, and we are happy to offer a new afterschool program for our younger participants. For those that need it, we will pick students up from Chandler at 3:25 PM in the DBMS van. The program runs from October 6th-November 17th (it will not meet on October 20th as we will be running a half-day program). We’re not afraid of the cooler fall weather here at DBMS and plan to be outside as much as possible, learning about local organisms and ecosystems!

Grade 3-5 Afterschool

Tuesdays and/or Thursdays 2:00-4:30 PM

Join us for our brand-new fall program, which offers total flexibility for parents! No need to fight the pick-up line, as we will pick students up from Alden in the DBMS van and bring them back to campus for an afternoon of fun! The fall session will run for a total of ten classes and includes two half-days: one on Tuesday and one on Thursday. On half days, we will pick students up when school gets out at 10:30 AM and take them back to DBMS until 4:30 PM! Students will do hands-on activities covering topics such as ocean health, meteorology, marine biology, marine ecology, and aquaculture!

Grade K-2 & 3-5 Professional Development and Vacation Day Programs

If school is off for the day due to a holiday or professional development day, but you still have work, send your child to DBMS for a day of fun! Boat rides, scavenger hunts on the beach, kayaking, and experiments in the Marine Science lab are just a few examples of some of the awesome things they will do during their day off!
