CHECK BACK FOR WINTER 2022-23 MARINE SCIENCE OFFERINGS
See below for last year’s programs
Big Fish Little Fish
Wednesdays 10:00-11:00 AM
Feeling stuck inside this winter with a little one that has endless amounts of energy? Bundle up and join us for an hour outside as we explore Duxbury Bay and the unique creatures that only come to visit once the weather turns cold!
GRADE K-2 AFTERSCHOOL
Wednesdays 3:45-5:15 PM
The fun’s not over until we say it is!! Like the last session, we will be picking students up from Chandler at 3:25 PM in the DBMS van and then heading back to DBMS for an exciting adventure! The program will run from December 8th-February 16th. We will not meet on December 29th or January 19th. We will talk about creatures that only visit the Bay during colder months (Snow Owls!!) and learn just how much the Bay changes as we move from Fall to Winter! On days when it’s just too cold to be outside, we will either take shelter on our closed-in back porch or head into the Marine Science Lab to experiment!
GRADE 3-5 AFTERSCHOOL
Thursdays 2:00-4:00 PM
Back for a winter session, we will be continuing our Alden Afterschool Program for nine more weeks of fun! Students will be picked up from Alden at 2:00 PM in the DBMS van before returning to campus until 4:00 PM! Despite the cold weather arriving, there’s still plenty to see throughout winter on Duxbury Bay. Snowy owls should be arriving at the beach shortly, our tanks are full of amazing animals, and the oyster farmers will be busy working on the water all winter! On February 3rd, when the students have a half-day, we will pick them up from Alden at 10:30 AM and offer an extended program at DBMS.

If school is off for the day due to a holiday or professional development day, but you still have work, send your child to DBMS for a day of fun! Van rides to different ecosystems, scavenger hunts on the beach, crafts, and experiments in the Marine Science lab are just a few examples of some of the awesome things they will do during their day off!
