Welcome to yoga & fitness classes at DBMS – Free for All!
Dockside Yoga & Fitness began in 2016 when a local yoga instructor was so moved by the space overlooking Duxbury Bay, they inquired about teaching a class on Saturday mornings. Since then, we have expanded our schedule and staff to accommodate our community. At Dockside Yoga & Fitness, we believe there is nothing more special than connecting with nature during your practice. In the clean, spacious Clifford Hall with panoramic views, you are removed from life for a bit. From here, you may begin to deepen your connection with your breath, your movement, the Bay and yourself. Drop in to enjoy the waterfront in a new way here in Duxbury. We look forward to seeing you in a class soon.

class descriptions
Core Strength
A lively blend of barre, yoga, Pilates and traditional fitness. Improve your strength and flexibility using resistance bands and hand weights. Focusing on the core with every movement. All levels of conditioning welcome.
Alignment Based Hatha
In an alignment based hatha yoga class, expect slow movement and longer holds where you truly get into your body with Asana! This class will give you the opportunity to build your strength and confidence with the Asana commonly found in a faster paced Vinyasa practice by moving through the poses in a slow and alignment focused manner. There will be aspects of Yin practice as well as Pranayama and guided meditation.
Gentle Flow
For every body – Gentle Flow Yoga is structured around rejuvenating and healing the body. Yoga props such as blocks, straps and additional mats are often used for safe practice, and to allow the body to fully achieve each position comfortably. This class is held at a slower pace and focuses on stretching all areas of the body, while releasing stress and tension from joints and muscles.
Yoga Flow
For an openhearted yoga experience filled with passion and authenticity join Susanne Hallisey for a Yoga Flow Class on Sundays from 10-11am. The first half of this class will focus on building strength in the body through a series of standing poses; class will close with a sequence of restorative postures to promote rest, flexibility, and renewal.
Vinyasa Flow
Vinyasa Flow is a sequential movement between yoga postures which promotes the lengthening of muscles, strength, and relaxation of the mind and body. This class is a flowing blend of various styles of yoga and the postures are held for 5-8 breaths. Forward bends, twists, balance work, inversions ,core development and strengthening of all muscles are explored during this moving meditation. The student will experience a release of tension and greater wellness in every system of the body.
Barre with Jennifer
Class is definitely challenging for those who are looking for a good workout, but laid back so you can come/go/stop/stretch/ bring kids/bail last minute without feeling guilty or stressed. We are a family friendly barre class (not a stroller / mommy-and-me class). Low impact, full-body exercises are driven by music. No cardio. Schedule the full hour but the workout is realistically 45min. Very much a social hour.
Strong Flow Yoga
Integrates strength, flexibility, concentration and contemplation through a series of traditional postures linked through breath and movement.

“Having the opportunity to teach yoga at DBMS has been incredible. The community has really embraced us and I love seeing how much the program has grown. The lineup of instructors is outstanding and Clifford Hall is truly one of the most beautiful spaces I have ever seen! I love seeing the surprised faces and hearing gasps in the voices of students who walk in for the first time and are in awe of the room and the spectacular view of Duxbury Harbor. It is so calming and peaceful which makes it the perfect space for yoga.”
